i've just witnessed the biggest upset in WC2006. Czech 0 - 2 Ghana. Applauds for Ghana of course, for they did nothing wrong. They attacked well. Took their chances, no matter how they are presented to them. But, i'm utterly disgusted by the poor referee-ing. The Argentine referee-ing the game was clearing biased towards the South Africans (for god-knows-what reason). That should have been a push by the Ghanian before the immediate counter attack by the underdogs that led to a penalty awarded to them for a minor trip-and-fall incident in Petr Cech's territory. And for some reason, he sent off T. Ujfalus(Czech). Well, at least justice was somewhat done for that poor judgement of the referee when the penalty struck the post hard. But he's not the only one that has spoilt the wonderful game of football. The 2 Centre-backs should have been given death sentences for their lacklustre performance. They could simply be considered the 13th and 14th men of the Ghanian team (the referee being the 12th). And with one Czech being sent off, it's a match of 14 vs 8. Haha. The 1st Ghanian goal was being played onside by one of the CBs. (CB = centre back). He happily took 2 steps back before a cross in and this played Gyan onside. Then he committed a weak jump in an attempt to head the ball for a clearance. Of course, he headed some air and the ball landed perfectly for Gyan to lay in the 1st goal on the 2nd minute of the game. Later in the 2nd half, series of endless attacks by the blacks simply firmed the verdict that the 2 CBs were shit. Their offside trap were bound to fail, allowing many breakthrough runs piercing the centre as if attacking was free of charge to Ghana. If not for Petr Cech wonderful performance, Czech would have featured in another 6-0 match. (but this time, czech may be the team suffering the cruel demolition and of course, by a lowly South African team). Without doubt, the 2nd goal came. The 2 CBs ran beside Munturi(Ghana) as if they were his bodyguards . This time round, even the almighty Cech could do nothing. A poor game for Czech. They played like a champion in their first. But for this, they were totally destroyed, or should i say they destroyed themselves totally in the 2nd half. Utterly disgusted by the 2 CBs and the referee. Not that i lost alot of money. In fact, i only lost 2.50 bucks. I went down in search for a beautiful game but this is what i got in return. Upset!
